These images are based on a series of mis-readings, mis-hearings and mis-rememberings.

Life in a bun dance is based on the words of Jesus in the gospel of John 10 v. 10 'I have come that they may have life and have it in abundance'.  I once saw this painted on a wall with an unintentional gap.  The buns have been dancing ever since.  I suspect my close acquaintance with jam doughnuts is exposed here for all to see.

Icing for Joy is a mis-heard line from Shout to The Lord (Hillsong) - 'I sing for Joy". Visions of iced biscuits, AKA The Last Gasp of the Exhausted Kid's Worker, are never far away when this song comes up.

Gladly, my cross-eyed bear is a misremembered line from the Hymn 'Keep Thou My Way' by Fanny Crosby.  The key word is 'I'll' but 'I'd' is much more fun.
